Meet the Founder

I was born and raised in Switzerland with deep roots on both sides of the Rhine – my mother is German from just across the border, and my father was Swiss. I grew up surrounded by the culture, traditions, and flavors of this region, attending school in Switzerland and learning to cherish our heritage from an early age.

My background is shaped by discipline and dedication – I even served in the Swiss military, where I rose to the rank of Hauptfeldwebel (Master Sergeant) in the infantry. That experience taught me perseverance, precision, and a deep respect for teamwork – qualities I now bring into every aspect of my business.

 

Beyond that, I’ve always had a love for Swiss folk traditions. I grew up with Volksmusik, and I was once part of a local yodeling group – something I hope to return to soon. It’s these cultural roots and my love for authentic, simple things that inspire Volant & Crumb today.

 

Through my bread mixes, handmade products, and meaningful details, I want to share not just food – but a piece of my home, my heritage, and the values I was raised with. And I’m beyond excited to bring a piece of Switzerland to Colorado.
